1. Complete the 63-Hour Pre-License Course:
Master real estate fundamentals (laws, principles, practice, and math) through a state-approved online or in-person course at a real estate school or Realtor association.
Skip this step if you’re a licensed Florida attorney.
2. Apply for the Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Exam:
Get electronically fingerprinted for a background check (required by DBPR).
3. Submit Your Application & Fee:
Apply online or mail a check/money order to DBPR. They’ll review your application and Pearson VUE will notify you when approved (typically within 10-30 days).
4. Schedule & Pass the State Exam (Pearson VUE):
You’ll receive an email with your Candidate ID number.
Schedule your exam online at PearsonVUE.com or by calling 888-204-6289. Pass the exam with a minimum score of 75 out of 100.
5. Download & Print Your License (DBPR Website):
Once you pass, download and print your official license through your secure DBPR account.
6. Affiliate with a Licensed Broker:
Partner with a licensed real estate broker to activate your license and begin practicing.
